Privacy policy.

How Vycode collects, processes and safeguards information when you use the VS Code extension, the API and vycode.ai.

Introduction.

Vycode (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our VS Code extension and related services at vycode.ai.
§ 02

Information we collect.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and payment information.

Usage Data: We collect information about how you use our services, including the AI models you interact with, token consumption, and feature usage patterns.

Code Context: To provide AI completions, we process code snippets sent to our API. We do not store your source code permanently. Code context is processed in real-time and discarded after generating completions.

Device Information: We collect device identifiers, OS version, and VS Code version for compatibility and debugging purposes.

How we use your information.

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve our AI coding assistant services
  • Process transactions and manage your token balance
  • Route requests to the appropriate AI model provider
  • Send you technical notices, updates, and support messages
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and abuse
  • Generate anonymized, aggregated usage analytics
§ 04

Data sharing & third parties.

We share data with third-party AI model providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Meta, Mistral, DeepSeek, xAI, Alibaba) solely to process your code completion requests. Each provider receives only the minimal context necessary to generate completions.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share aggregated, anonymized data for analytics purposes.

§ 05

Data retention.

Account data is retained for the duration of your account. Code snippets are processed in real-time and not stored beyond the completion request lifecycle. Usage logs are retained for 90 days for debugging and analytics, then anonymized.

Security.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.3), encryption at rest (AES-256), and regular security audits. See our Security page for more details.

Your rights.

You have the right to:

  • Access and export your account data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of non-essential data collection
  • Update or correct your personal information
